A unique miniature pig breed

After 12 years operating under Specipig brand, we are now Versa Biomedical. While we are open to working with any pig model, we primarily conduct our studies using the miniature model.
Through Specipig, we will continue channelling all activities related to the breeding of our own miniature pig breed, which we have developed in collaboration with the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA) and Semen Cardona.

Our unique advantage over other companies that breed and market miniature pigs is that we offer a comprehensive solution: we breed our own animals and provide research services in fully equipped facilities, open to companies and institutes looking to conduct research.

    Spanning 3 hectares, our facilities can accommodate over 300 animals.

  • Our ICU preterm / Neonate facilities

    A neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) dedicated to preclinical research studies related to newborns, preterms and maternity.

    It complies with EU regulations, featuring positive pressure, forced ventilation, and continuous monitoring of temperature, humidity, and pressure.

  • A highly qualified team

    Over 30 expert professionals in swine management, breeding, health and welfare.
